NEWSPAPERS AND THE TELEGRAPH WIRES,
(Reuter’s Telegram.) ■ OTTAWA, May 5. A despatch from Toronto says that with, two dissentients a meeting of newspaper publishers of Ontario' and Quebec, members of the Canadian Press Associationi, decided to adopt the recommendations of the ’board of directors, and absorb the 50,000 dollars annual grant by -the Dominion Government, which wois cancelled last session. The .newspapers of Canada thus decided as rt whole to carry at tlheir own expense the trans-Continental leased wires linking east a/nd west..
