THE ARDKEEN SETTLERS.
NINE PAY BACK RENT.
The position of the Ardkeen settlers was - discussed at to-day’s meeting of the Land Board.
It will be remembered that at last month’s meeting of the Board the Ardkeen settlers were given one month in which to pay up certain of their arrears. Since that date, nine of the settlers have paid the necessary money, but the remaining settlers have not- done so. The Board went thoroughly into the matter and has forwarded certain recommendations to thei Minister of Lands at Wellington. The next move will therefore be from there.
