Reference to the Ofcira tunnel was made at a deputation from Westland, which waited on the Minister for Public' Works at Wellington. “Has the tunnel had much effect on traffic to the South • Island?” asked the Minister. The reply, ivas that it had! made a tremendous difference. “One could expect that it j would increase,” remarked the Minister,’ ‘ end a- good job, tea."
