Of the buildings in Auckland City, as many as 90 per cent., according to a statement made by Mr. B. C. Chilwcll, in his address to the Rotary Club, wore erected without the services of an architect. Ail interesting reminder of service with “The Die Hards,’’ the famous 57th (Middlesex) Regiment, is in the possession of Mr. T. P. Lister/in the form of a medal which has been issued to the ‘lew survivors among those who were with the regiment in New Zealand (says tlie Taranaki Herald). So far as is known, there are only five now living in New Zealand.
