A CHEERFUL FUNERAL.

A wodding-liko funeral service was witnessed at Burton, in Cheshire, on the occasion of the burial of the mother of General Congreve, V.C. At her request the church was florally decorated and the clergy wore white stoles. The service was fully choral and the church bells rang out tho wedding peals and flags were not halfmasted but flown at (he mast head. Tho clergyman said that Mrs. Congreve had told him (hat she wanted the service! to bo the cheeriest possible, "for," sho said, "there is only half of me here and I am looking forward to the day of my death as the greatest day of happiness I can concedve, for then I shall be re-united to my dear husband,"
