WHARERATA
THE WEATHER CONDITIONS. Four days in December recorded rain at Whareiatu, the total being.only 39 points, as follows: Cm the sth, 9 points; 20th, 8 points; 28th, 5 points; and on the 29th, 17 points. The following table show’s details for the year
The rainfall of tho past 10 weeks has been quit© insufficient for the requirements of the pastures, Avhich are hoav everywhere quite tjrown, and to all appearances dead. The conditions so far have been very satisfactory for dry sheep, but not for ewes and lambs, and if the dry weather continues cattle will soon suffer. A good rain is required to put growth into tho pastures and bring back the green appearance and abundance of feed so characteristic of this district at this season of the year.
