BOWLING.
PEACE SHIELD TOURNAMENT. . The Peace Shield tournament was continued yesterday afternoon, the weather conditions remaining favorable. Roth greens played well, with perhaps one or two exceptions. The arrangements were ably carried out by Mr. XV. J. Hueston, Centre secretary, who is to he congratulated on the smooth running of the tournament. Some really good games were witnessed yesterday, and the nlay, on the whole, was of a high standard. Tho only game not concluded in the B section after we went to press yesterday was that between Crawford and Woottou, which resulted in a victory for the first-named. In the sixth round of the A section some close and exciting games were witnessed. Great interest was taken in the games skipped by Horne and Beatson, as both were level pegging, with no defeats. Harris, of Wairoa, accounted for Horne, and was accorded hearty applause on the fijio performance of his team. Allan and Beatson also had a ding-dong go, and it was anyone’s game right up to the finish, Allan ultimately proving the. victor. Horne and Beatson therefore go in the final, as well as Woo Don, tho; winner of the B section* The draw took place, last evening, and resulted in Woollon being selected to play Horne’s rink on some date, before Thursday next, and the Avinner will contest tho final with Beatson’s team. The folloAving are the results of the sixth round : A section : Hueston 20 beat Gibbs 10: EaAvyer 23 beat Wilkinson 16; Pallridge 27 beat Greig 24; Harris 27 beat Home 17; Allan 24 beat Beatson 17. B section: Seymour 19 beat Sinclair 12; Martin 24 boat. Crawford 20; Woollen 27 boat Flu A-ell 9; Holmes 30 beat Gambrill 14.
