RED RUSSIA.
SPOOKS AND MYSTERIOUS MURDERS AT THE KREMLIN.
COMMUNISTS AT VARIANCE
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received January 2, 9.35 a.m.) MOSCOW. January 1.
Pied Guards in Lenin's Palace at the Kremlin have struck, following mysterious murders in the corridors at midnight. On two successive nights the guard was found dead with a dagger in the breast, and no trace of the murderers. On the third night the guard was found-uncon-scious and wounded, and declared that the ghost of Ivan the Terrible attacked him and accused him of betraying Russia. Redoubled civilian volunteer guards replaced the terrified soldiers. The struggle within the Communist party, which seemed to be abating, has been renewed as fiercely as ever. The central groups are determined to drop Trotsky unless he unconditionally accepts their views.
