The M'cssagoro states that Signor Mussolini, on August 8 sent to Senator Cuartieri. leader of tho Italian ;delegation negotiating the execution of the Treaty of Rapallo, a letter to be communicated to the Jugo-Slav delegation, stating that the Italian Government is unable longer to tolerate Jugo-Slav opposition to a solution of Adriatic problems, adding that Italy abundantly has proved its loyalty in intentions and frankness of attitude in evacuating the third Dalmatian zone, and in executing other clauses of the treaty. The letter concludes : Unless a solution is reached by August 31 Italy will reserve full liberty of action. The Messagero points out that as a result of Mussolini's virtual ultimatum the Jugo-Slav delegates are showing more activity, apparently being resolved to arrive at a conclusion. An answer from Belgrade has not yet arrived.
