TESTAMENT LEAGUE.

The Rev. G. T. B. Davis, world secretary of the Pocket Testament LeugU'i, is at present in Gisborne, and will bo conducting a special effort among the boys and girls on behalf of the League. 'Mr. Davis, has been associated, with this remarkable movement .since IPOS, when it Avas inaugurated by Mrs. Charles M. Alexander (a member of the well-known Cadbury family of Birmingham). The work of the Pocket Testament League amongst the so Id to is in Great ' Britain and America was widely heard of during the war, and for the past two ycaiw Mr. Daviis has been occupied on a world's tour. Recently in Australia about 200,000 Testaments were distributed, and the work rec.eiVed the commendation of the Education Boards there.

Mr. Davis has since had an invitation to carry on this work amongst the men of General Feng's army at Pcki.ii. This Chinese general is a Christian, and has promised his cordial resistance in the movement. The residents of Gisborne have raised a fund for the free distribution of 1500 Testament* amongst the boys and girls, who will promise Co read and carry one daily, and Mr. Davis will hold rallies of the boys and girls on Monday and Tuesday next, ,in cooperation with the local auxiliary of tho. British and Foreign Bible Society. The management of Everybody's Theatro has kindly place%their building at the disposal of Mr. Davis for a big rally on Tuesday, afternoon next at half-post two.
