TE HAPARA SCHOOL.

Y*esterday afternoon a largo number of parents, and ex-pupils, with tho pUpils and staff, were present at the'Te -Hapara school to farewell Miss Jessie Cook, the popular infant mistress, who-has been on the staff since the school waJ opened twelve and a-half years ago. - ' ■ Mr. Pasley, who presided, spoke of tho pleasing associations that all had experienced . with Miss Cook during the time she had been here. Her professional ability and her splendid :organisation in tlie school, and social functions bad helped to place the school iri its present position and ho could only express the committee’s and parents’ regret at the loss of her /valuable services.

Mr. AVoods, president . of the Te Hapara Tennis 1 Club, stated that the work of Miss Cook ns secretary• to- the club bad enabled them to make a success of the same, and wished her every happiness in tho proposed stop she was going to undertake, Mr. Pasley then presented Miss Cook with a handsome silver tea sorvice' and silver tray on behalf of the pupils, .staff and the committee of the Te -Hapara school, and wished her every happiness in Tier married life. - ■ . . Miss Cook, in rising to reply, thoiigh overcome, expressed her thanks to 'all for their handsome gifts. Tho parents and ex-pupils present wore then entertained with afternoon tea provided by Mrs Faram, ana a further pleasant half-hour was opent in cOnvcrsatiop apd congratulations to Yliss Cri'ok.
