“Billy,” tho dgnrette-chowing mascot, goat of the Calliope Sea Scouts, was a proud goat on Saturday, when he paraded the scoutmasters’ camp at Narrow Neck with tho representatives of tho sea scouts, remarks the Auckland Herald. In addition to the usual ornamental coat, tinkling hells, troop ribbons ,and silver tips for his horns, “Billy’ 'wpre a heavy silver collar that was presented by tho town of Pretoria, South Africa, to “Polorous Jack,” for Jellicoe’ mascot dog, when 'His Excellency commanded the New' Zealand. “Billy’s” guardian, removed 'the collar for inspection by on lookers, but “Billv” was very solicitous of its return. “Pelorous Jack’s” collar is now one, of the treasures of the Now Zealand naval squadron, but was lent for Saturday’s ceremony.
