Worthington Evans said the question was of national and Imperial importance. It was imperative to evolve a workable commercial scheme, lie denied there had been unnecessary delays. The points at issue should l;e settled within a month. Thereafter there would he nothing to prevent the erection of ci high power station* which should he operative within 12 to 18 months. The Government’s object in the present negotiations over licenses was to secure enterprise with a minimum of Government control. Ho hoped lliei wireless rate would always hd lower than the cable rates, though there would doubtless ho competition.
