(Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, this day. The inquest on the unidentified body found in the river some weeks ago was re-opened to-day. Tliree witnesses from Wellington gave evidence that they believed from a photograph that the deceased was a man named Ernest Randal, who came from the Old Country, and resided for a time in Wellington, also in Auckland. lie was a worker on Ilatrick and Co.’s boats hero. Tho inquest was further adjourned. WELLINGTON, this day. At (ho Magistrate’s Court to-day, Jiolm Craig Neill, clerk in charge of the branch office at To Aro of the Labor Department, jdoaded guilty to the theft of £lO3 16s. When the defalcation was discovered accused surrendered to the police. He was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence. Bail was not allowed. CHRISTCHURCH, this day.
