POWER OF FAITH.

MORE HICKSON CURES,

EXCITEMENT AT ARMIDALE

CATHEDRAL OVERCROWDED.

ARMIDALE, April 25. Several moro definite cures were claimed following on the Hickson faith-healing servico to-day. Many other patients reported substantial improvement. Mrs. Menzies, of Mann street, Armidale, declared that for many months sho had been troubled by insomnia. She could not sleep at all, but last night she slept soundly. A child brought to the mission, in tho hopo that the missioner eould cure the dumb, is reported to have astounded his parents by saying, "Mother, I believe in him; don't you?" Mrs. Rivers, of Tenterfiold, is said to have come down to the church by car, suffering from paralysis, but was able to walk back to the place where she was staying. A student from St. John's College is said to have been very bad with Bright's disease, but was cured. Enquiry into this ease, however, shows that recovery was by no means complete, but that great relief was felt. WITHOUT HIS CRUTCHES. Mrs. Reid, of Inverell, stated emphatically that she was ablo to walk better, and with much less pain, after the laying on of hands. Mr. Hickson visited a cancer patient from West End. Sho says she experienced relief, and that pain had left her. Another well-known Armidale woman, who has been ,deaf for many years, states that after mission she heru'd her daughter spoak. One of the most spectacular cases is that of a young lad who went to the altar on crutches, and immediately after tho laying on of hands dispensed with his crutches and walked out of the Cathedral. This was witnessed bymany Armidale people, and created much excitement. A GREAT THRONG. The throng of patients at to-day's rervice exceeded all expectations. Over 500 put in an appearance, and fully 200 had to bo turned away till tomorrow, when the third and last service will be hold. They had come from all over Armidalo diocese, exclusive of Armidale.

The spectacle of crying women, anxious-faced fathers, and disappointed children was one not soon to bo forgotten by those who witnessed 4t. The church was filled to its utmost capacity, and the solemnity of the service equalled that of Monday. The number on whom the missioner placed his hands was much greater. Mr. Hickson said the man who approached the altar with one selfish desire uppermost, would not derive any benefit. His sick soul raised fin insuperable barrier. Anything he did wus only the sowing of the seed.
