STOCK SALE. The weekly sale of the Poverty Bay Stockbrokers ’ Association was held at iMatawhere to-day. The attendance was small, and the demand for most classes of stock, except fat cattle, was good. The yarding of fat sheep was 226, and most of these were sold under the hammer. Prices of fat sheep and pigs hardened, while it is anticipated that store sheep, of which there is a large entry, will sell well. One lino of 168 2-tootli withers offered just before the adjournment brought 22s 3d. The following lines were offered this morning:—

Fat sheep: 26 ewes (p) 19s, 2 ewos aiul 1 lamb 17s sd, 24 ewes 17s 7d, 29 do. 21s 3d, 21 do. 225, 10- do. 17s, 13 do. 19s, 21 do. 18s lOd, 30 do. 225, 22 do. (p) 16s, 17 do. (p) 16s, 5 do. 18s •’d, 11 lambs 14s lOd, 15 do. (p) 12s, 20 do. (p) 11s.

Fat cattle: One cow (p) £2 17s 6d, 2 do. £2 15s, 9 bullocks (p) £5, 1 cow £4 7s 6d, 1 do. £3, 3 do. (p) £2 10s, 3 do : (p) £3 ss, 4 do. (p) £2, 4 do. £3 17s 6d, 1 18-months steer £2, 1 do. £2 10s.

Pigs: 6 wcaners (p) 6s Gd, 3 do. 11s, 3. do. 10s, 5 do. 12s, 7do. 5s 6d, 6 do. 3s Gd, 6 do. 4s Gd, 1 empty sow (p) •10s, 1 do. 255, 1 weauer Us, 2 do. 6s. 3 do. 4s, 3 sows, in pig, no bid, 3 wcaners 11s, 2 do. 10s, 4 do. 9s, 4 do. 9s 6d, 10 do. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 27th inst:— New Zealand dairy produce—Butter 142 s to 144 s per cwt. Cheese, 90s to 96s per cwt. Market quiet. New Zealand frozen meat —Lamb 10jjd per lb (average). Mutton, wether and maiden ewe, light 7|d per lb, heavy s|d per lb; owe, light s|d per lb, heavy 5d per lb. Market slow.
