MORE CAPTURES MADE.

AN AUSTRALIAN ARRESTED

They are supposed lo be members of ah international gang. The arrests followed complaints by Louis Rubin, an American banker, who was victimised on Thursday at Brussels to the extent of £2OOO by a confidence trick. Rubin canto to Paris with a detective, where he recognised the portrait of O'Brien as the man who robbed him. The police went to (lie Hotel Rue de Rivoli, and learned that O'Brien had Kone to Cherbourg to join the Maure-, t.'.nia, but they arrested Holloway, an alleged accomplice. O'Brien'a description was telegraphed lo Cherbourg. During the train journey, however, O'Brien ■changed everything he wore, including his socks and gold-rimmed speclades. His appearance was so altered that two Americans were arrested who wete travelling in the same compartment. The error was found before the Mauritania sailed, and O'Brien was arrested as he was boarding the boat. He vigorously protested that he Avas an English citizen, but th© police searched his luggage and found £2500 in English, French, and Belgian money, hidden in a shirt in OBrien's travelling bag. Holloway was identified as; one of the three men who tried to swindle an American shoe merchant in September. He was captured after a struggle, wherein a..detective shot Holloway, who was sent to hospital, but he was released on condition that he left the country. Senor Santos, a Spanish business man, on Saturday, gave evidence that Warren swindled him of £1650. Morneoon, a Frenchman, in evidence, .said that Warren had cheated Jiini of £4OOO.
