THE SEASON'S PROGRAMME

The Poverty Bay Golf Club- has adopted the following programme, of events to oe contested during the present season : May sth, Ist round tournament A and IJ; lath, 2nd round tournament; 19th, 3rd round and Bogey match; 25th, 4th round and medal match (partners drawn A and R). June 2nd, sth round and four ball Bogey; 9th, monthly medal; 16th, Bogey match (draw partners whole club); 23rd, Ist club medal match ; 30th, ladies' match (i stroke handicap). July 7th, monthly medal; 14th, qualitying round Reynolds' cup (best 32) and Ist qualifying round championship f& 21st,' Ist round Reynolds' cup; 28th, 2nd round Reynolds' cup. August 4th, monthly medal; 11th, 3rd round Reynolds' cup and Bogey match (draw partners A and B); 18th 4th round Reynolds'" cup and four ball medal; 25th, slh round Reynolds' <jup and Bogey match. September Ist, 2nd qualifying round championship and montnly medal; Bth. Ist round championship; 15th, 2nd round championship and ined.il .match (draw partners whole club); 22nd, 3rd round championship and Bogey match; 29th, final championship. October 6th, monthly medal; 13th, to be arranged. Challenge medals will be competed for in the monthly medal matches as under : For the three best scores, in A section, silver medal; for the throe best scores in B section, bronze medal.

The first monthly medal match of the season was played on the Poverty Bay Club's links on Saturday last. A strong 'wind with occasional showers prevented many cards being- handed in The best scores were:

L. Balfour, 85 (handicap 11) 74 F. Jones, ICO (handicap 24) 76. E. Jenkinson, 102 (handicap 24) 78. Next Saturday the first rounds of the A and B tournaments will be played. Intending players who have not already done so, should hand their names in to the secretary not later than Wednesday next.
