The Whakatauc, which left Wellington at 7 a.m. yesterday lor Avonmouth, put back at 1 o'clock this morning, having developed engine trouble. Shortly after noon yesterday it was discovered that the port refrigerating engine upon which tho vessel was completing loading had developed trouble caused by the condenser. The exact extent of the damage was not known early this afternoon, but it is hoped to despatch tho liner in two or three days for Avonmouth.
