After lifting a considerable quantity of freight at the latter port the ship goes to Auckland for final dispatch for England. The Putiki is due from south on Saturday with cargo. She is to sail the same afternoon for Wellington. The Awahou is expected in Auckland on Friday and loads for Tokomaru Bay, Tolaern Hay and Gisborne. The niix. schooner Te Arohn arrives from Wniroa, to-night. Sh© loads here to-morrow for Wairoa.

The Inga will probably finish the discharge of her Newcastle coal cargo and the loading of a quantity of timber to-morrow) night. The steamer then proceeds to Greymouth. 'the Federal Line steamer Durham was due at Wellington on Monday from Auckland in continuation of her voyage from Liverpool. She is to leave Wellington to-morrow for Lyttclton and Dtnicdin. The ship later visits Gisborne to load for the United Kingdom. The Tiroa is sailing to-day and should reach Hicks Bay, via Tokomaru Bay, in the morning. From Hicks Bay the ship goes to Auckland to load for Coast Bays and Gisborne. The Baden Powell arrived from Napier early this morning. She is to sail hence again this afternoon for the Hawke's Bay port to load shingle for Gisborne.

The three-masted topsail schooner War boid reached Whakatane yesterday afternoon from Gisborne. She is to load .sand for this port. Iho ketch lluanui is now expected to finish discharge this afternoon, and she then commences loading general cargo for Auckland. An endeavor is to be made to despatch the vessel to-morrow.

The schooner Flsie Mary, en route to Auckland from Gisborne, was sighted off Cape Runaway on Sunday night. On top of the news that the Union Company is having a motor-liner built for the Sydncy-Auckland-Vancouver service, comes tho report that it is the intention of the Oceanic Steamship Company, San Francisco, to build a couple of 10,000-ton motor passenger liners for service between San Francisco and Sydney. It is stated that these vessels are to have a speed of 17 knots and to be equipped with Diesel machinery. If this is the case, the power installed will be far larger than that in any existing motor vessel. Cable advice has been received from the. London representative of the Canterbury Shipping Company that the purchase lias been completed of a new steamer for the company's coastal trade. Tho vessel is 175 ft. long, 28ft. beam, and lift depth. She is a duplicate of the Breeze, and by the same builders. Steam is supplied to a set of triple expansion engines by two single-ended boilers, with two furnaces each. Tho new ship will bo called Gale, and will leave London shortly for New Zcaand via Panama.
