Wellington representn(ivc teams met in perfect weather, and on a dry ground. In tho first spell tries were obtained for Otago by Stewart (2). Dickinson (2), Knox and Owles, Two of the tries were converted by Bell. For Wellington trios were obtained by Thomas and Mnhonev, the latter being converted by Christopherson. In the second - spell' tries were obtained for Wellington, by Pringle and Thomas, and Mahoney potted a good goal. For Otago Stewart scored, Matliieson _ converting, ami the game ended in a win for Otago, by 27 points to 18. Wellington failed in the main through lost opportunities, as the. Otago backs made a great many mistakes.
LEAGUE MATCH AT NAPIER. NAPIER, last.night. The South Auckland Rugby .League representatives, holders of the Northern Union Cup, were defeated, by- Hawke i Bay, by 15 points ,tq 13. in the presence of 1500 people. The weather was fine,, but- the ground hard. Very, little combination was shown on either side, but Auckland dominated in the open play. Hawke’s- Bay’s defence was sound.
