> MATAWHERO STOCK SALES

The weekly sale conducted by the Poverty Bay Stockbrokers’ Association was held at the Malawhera saleyards today, in tlie presence of a. small number of Olivers.

The yardings were : Fat sheep 558, fat cattle 1 only, pigs' 56, store sheep 1864, store cattle 8, dairy cattle 73. The bidding was very slow, and there seemed to be a decrease generally in the demand for all classes ot sheep. Pigs realised lair prices, any anything of any quality in dairy stock sold well. There was no demand for fat sheep, only twenty-four being sold out, of the whole yarding. Tim following sales- were recorded under the hammer (p representing passed m) :
