Smith, treasurer to the Royal Reception Committee, said that all the committee’s accounts had been paid except £1096 owing to the ■ Christchurch City Council’s electricity department, and £29 to the Christchurch Fire Board, a total of £1125. He had not paid them because he has only £437 in hand, so that, the excess of liabilities over assets ,ts £6BB. The total expenses of the Royal Reception Commute were £9468.
