REDUCTION OF WAGES.
LONDON, March 8. Speaking at Cambridge, Sir E. Geddes foreshadowed an automatic reduction of railwaymen’s wages by 4s weekly, to correspond with the reduced cost of living. He added: It has been suggested. that the men would dishonor their bargain. Personally he refused to believe it. Such action would take off seven millions, annually off the railway bill. A full conference of the Triple Alliance has been summoned to discuss plans to contest the wages reductions.— A. and N.Z.C.A.
