The north-east breeze increased before the champion fourfc race was due. After sheltering for awhile under the lee of Mabel Island the crews returned loAjie sheds, the race being postponed till later. -Maiden Fours: Wellington 1, Piclon 2, Poverty. Bay 3. Also stalled: Blenhejm and Wairau. Won by two lengths, one length between second and third. Time, 5.49 2-5. Junior Pairs: Wairau 1, Poverty Bay 2, West End No. 1 3. Also started: Piclon, Star, and Wanganui. There was an exciting finish, the placed boats being bunched. Time 6.55 4-5.
