--. m» P.B.R.C. ANNUAL MEETING. There was a good attendance of members at the 37th annual general meeting of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club Tast night, and the secretary revealed a satisfactory position. It was stated that the thanks of the club were due to the following, who donated subscriptions and also irophies, and generally took a large m- . terest m the club: Mr. B. S- Cox (photos). Messrs G. Wildish (His Worship the Mayor). R. Kidson, F. Hall. If. J. Grieve, W. Findlay. B. Aislabie (medals), L. Clare for silver cup and gold medal, and also C> Adair for trophy. Were it "ii'ot for sportsmen such as these sport would become very lax. The club plant was m good order and repair, Two new doubles, two new singles, and also a large shipment of oars arrived last season. During the season there were some very good races witnessed, several of the crews only winning by a few feet. A regatta at Wairoa was held and the club was very successful, winning all events on the programme and netting the sum of £52.. The balance-sheet showed the receipts to be £198 7s. iod. and the expenditure £239 10.?* lOd. The liabilities were £565 16s. 5d.. and the assets £735.' It has been proposed that, the fee this year he increased and the proposed charges are 30s. (old members) and 375. 6d. (new members).
