The Registrar of the Supreme Court has received directions from the SolicitorGeneral 16 enter a. stay of proceedings tn the case of Albert James Wilfred Carpentler, charged with indecently assaulting tyo little, girls.' The case was heard twice at Wanganui, and the juiy disagreed. The venue was changed to Palmerston North, and the jury again disagreed when the case was heard last sessions there. A further trial was then ordered dependent on the Solicitor-Gen-eral's dec'sion as to a stay of proceedings, which ha,s now been ordered. CHRISTCHURCH, this day.
