Monday, September 13. Kowhai, s.s. (10.15 a.m.), 792 tons, from Mcstport. i

The Arahura is timed to leave Auckland this evening for Tokomaru Bay and Gisborne, and m consequence of the vessel's late arrival ,at this port to-morrow she will only be tendered with one launch for inward and outward passengers at 7.30 p.m. The steamer later proceeds to Napier, whence she returns to Gisborne on Friday morning. Then she is to be tendered with tho first launch at 6 a.m., and with the la^t launch that day at 7 I-.UU (meantime). The collier Kowhai arrived at Gisborne from Westport last night, and commenced the dischargo of her coal cargo this morning. It is anticipated that the vessel's cargo will be landed by Thursday, and she then sails for Westport direct. Owing to wet weather at Lyttelton, tho Kini -does not leave that port until today for Napier and Gisborne. The steamer is bringing southern produce for here. The Blackball' Company's collier Ngatoro has been fixed to load at Greymouth a full cargo of Blackball and State Coal, the Gisborne portion of which is for Messrs Claro and Clare. Tlio collier, is expected to arrive at Gisborne about September 27, and from this port goes to Napier to continue discharge. The ketch Huanui sailed from Auckland at 8 a.m. to-day with a full cargo ' of "benzine aud kerosene for Gisborne. The Tiroa is expected to leave Gisborne fco-morrow flight for Hicks Bay. After working that port she returns to Gisborne.to load again for Hicks Bay. 'The Gisborne Sheepfarmers' Frozen Meat Go.'s newly-acquired lighter Eliza Allan, which was bought ryom the Colonial Sugar Co. at Auckland, had been used by the latter company as a hulk. The lighter was towed to Gisborne from Auckland by the Tiroa, the time for the 300 mile tow being 60 hours. Two lines of forty fathoms of chain and _. steel crfble -were used for towing. At present, the lighter is being loaded with wool for the Westmeath, but it is intended to equip her with two lots of gear for the quick handling of cargo which be greatly facilitated by the two large hatches she has. Two winches are to be installed on her.
