S.A. VETERANS' ASSOCIATION

The annual general meeting of the South African Veterans' Association was held on Saturday Evening m the Soldiers' Club rooms, there being a very good attendance of members. Mr.' j. B. Poynter presided., | The report, presented by 4he sepretary. Mr- J. V. Scott, on the work of tho past yt'ar, as already published, was adopted. The local), squadron of the Region of Frontiersmen ' wrote . suggesting* that a combined re-union be lieUT between, the two organisations.— it was V decided to o^rce to the suggestion, anflto set the date, if convenient, at September 24th.

A letter from the Hastings branch of tho association was r.eceiv«d, stating that the Dominion conference of the association would be held at Wellington on September 22nd, and that on the following day a deputation would ' wnit on the preinior and the Hon. Minister of Defence with a view to Hiding tho claims of the veterans for treatment on the same basis as the Returned Soldiers' ■ Association.— The. letter was received. • The election of otneens for the iensuing year resulted as follows:— President, Mr. ' \V\ J.
