t PARIS, June 4.— With the idea of testing their machine for a cross-Atlantic flight, two French airmen, Boussetrot and . Bernard, to-day broke ■ the worlds record for continuous flying, remaining m,: tho air 24 hours 19 minutes and 7 seconds, covering 1915 1-5 kilojoiotres, . or about. 1190 miles. They : also established what are claimed to be records for 1000 and 1500 kilometres, making . the former i" llhr. 29min. 56qec, and the latter m 16hr. 42min. 08sec. ', The record ...for continuous was •held by a German, "Lehdmant," who flew for twenty-one hours and forty-eight ,minutes. The two 'airmen made their jfittqmpt oyer a circuitous course hear .Orleans, which was lighted during the night by giant , searchlights to . enable, them to pick out their direction.. Working m six-hour shifts, one resting m a specially constructed cabin, while the other piloted tho machine. The avia-tors-took aboard 3300 liters of gasoline and 3300 of oil.
