"LOS ANGELES, March 27.—Australia ia bOoii to play an important part in the motion picture industry of the . world. Arthur Shirley and William L. 1 j Harris, who have been prominently identified- with motion picture producing here for a number of years, sail within a few days for Sydney to launch the first large-scale motion picture project ever to be established on the island continent. They will be followed by cameramen, directors, and Btara of both sexes, all drafted from the LO9 Angeles studios. I The undertaking, which will be fin- ■ anced by Australian capitalists inI eludes the construction of a chain of , theatres in the principal cities of Australia, which are to be larger and more magnificent than any of the present show houses in that country, and the production of at least eight feature films a year for world-wide distribution. The company backing the Australian [motion picture project has been incorporated under the laws of the province of New South Wales on a £200,000 basis
