Ross-Smith cables from Rangoon on the 30th, siting : "Left Akyab at 7.30. arrived at Rangoon at uoon. Good weather. Followed, the coast for one hundred mike, then travelled east across the mountains, which are ruerged a:nd heavily timbered. Struck the Irra-waddy near Prome; thence south circled over Ra-ngpoiii for ten minutes, and landed on ■tine racecourse, being received by a crowd of about forty thousand who gave Us a great ovation. The Vimy is the first machine . which lias ever Camded m Rangoon. We were ■ cominig here yesterday direct from Calcutta but the races were m progress. The Turf Club offered to postpone the races, but we .landed all Akyab instead.- All well. Hope to reach Bangkok to-morrow."
