POSITION NOT HOPELESS
'Australian and N 7 ram> AssociationiLONDON, Nov. 27. It is semi-officiaHy stated that the Bolshevists have driven back General Kenekm's forces to a mnximum depth of fifty miles allbng most of the front. During; the last six months the Bolshevists sent 350,000 men and; 1000 guns aeainst General Denekin. who probably will be forced to- retreatl further, but important forces which may repress the balance will be available to him owing to the events m Ukraine where 1 the defctiom of 15.000 Galician troops has made General Petlmra's position desperaAe, while the capture of Makhno's brigands by General Denekin's forces is imminent. This means the removal! of danger to General Denekin's lines and supplies, which have caused a diversion of troops from the anti-Bolshevik front
