Sir William Fraser, Minister for Public Works, m reply to a communication from the league, wrote statins that a considerable qtiantity of ma»chinery for road' and railway construction was on order, apd some of it had been receved. It was, however, extremely difficult to obtain the maahinerv from England, no doubt owing to the strikes m the iron and steel Industries.
