HOCKEY MATCHES
HAWKE'S BAY TEAM ARRIVES TO-MORROW,' The ladies and gentlemen's representative hockey team from Hawke's Bay, are expected to arrive to-morrow by, the Arahura from Napier. Although ■ tho vessel will, not be tendered until the afternoon, special arrangements are being made to bring the players ashore m the morning. They will be billeted at various hotels, and m the afternoon a Poverty Bay B team will meet the Hawke's. Bay ladies on' the reserve, and the representative match (men's) will be played, and as both teams have big reputations interesting matches should result. On Saturday afternoon, tho A team of the ladies' team will meet Hawke's Bay, and the ."curtain raiser" will be a match between another Poverty Bay representative team and the visitors. The * Reservo is being specially prepared for fast play, the Borough Council's roller being brought into requisition this afternoon. A big "gate" is expected both tomorrow afternoon and on Saturday, and it is hoped 'that the ' Poverty Bay representative teams will up-hold their reputation m the' matches against Hawke's Bay who have, a 'high position m hockey circles. The, visitors will be entertained at a dance m the. Assembly Hall on Friday night, and will be taken for a motor drive m the country on the Sunday afternoon. They will also be entertained at the theatre one evening. They return by the Arahura to Napier.
