Sir Andrew Russell has definitely announced his intention to stand for the Hajwkes Bay seat at the coming elections.
TIMARU, last night, A representative 'deputation " waited waited on Mr. J. Craigie, M.P... whose retirement was rumored, with' a' request that he should allow himself to be nominated at the next- election. Speakers eulogised the great services of' Mr. Craigie and the necessity for ekperienced men m the next Parliament to solve great problems. Mr. Craigie spoke of the valuable work done\by the National Government, although it might have made mistakes.. Regarding the future, he said the Dominion's weal was of .greater importances thalx party considerations. Ho promised to consider the request and give a replylater, assuring those present that if he consented he would be found with, the Progressive group.
