THE STATISTICIAN'S INDEX. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The cost of living index number aF compiled by the Government Statistician for three food groups (groceries, dairy produce, and meat) shows a slight increase for the month of June, compared with the May index. The number foi T" ne is 1528, as compared with 1924 foi May. The number was 1553 yin January of this year. The Statistician sNitc-f-hat on the June figures the increase i: the cost of foodstuffs since July, 1914. has been 42.80 per cent. The 'increase n food and rents combined during the period has been 29.67 uer cent.
