Wheat is quiet; No Australian is offering. Flour is m moderate demand. Small allocations of .colonial flour at 44s 9d. Oats are firm ; beans steady but quiet ; peas firm, Taßmanian blue 43s 6d to 43s 9d;. sugar is unchanged.
The Food Ministry is resuming control of bacon and lard.
The Buadfprd tops market . is at a standstill. There .is no disposition to buy : as machinery, is idle m consequence of the coal strike. V
Mr Frey Gray reports as follows on his weekly sale.— The advertised twoseater Saxon car realised £92, and n two-seater De Dion car sold at £23. Horses (three entrfjts): Hacks £5' and;-£2 Saddles and bridles sold at £2 15s and £i. Poultry (51 entries): Roosters realised 2s 6d to 4s, hens 3s lid to 4s, drakes 4s 3d. to 5s 6d. ducks 3s 9d.to 4s 3d. Eggs 2s 6d per dozen. Pumpkins sold at is each, potatoes (local) 15s, Canterbury 17s 6a per bag (getting scarce), mere was a large attendance at the furniture sale, and everything was cleared,, including a piano at £45 and a D.H. Singer at £9 10s.
