RIVER BOARD.
Tlie Poverty Bay River Board met this afternoon. Present : Messrs. A. J. Cameron, H. McKay, T. Smith, 0. A. Fenwick, and G. Witters. The Hdn. W. D. S. Mac Donald, m rep'.y to the Board-, offered to assist the Board to secure th© services of Mr. J. B. Thompson tbr the purpose of drawing up specifications for tend-ara for the necessary surveys' before proceeding with the scheme for flood prevention m this district. , The Department of Lands and Survey (Mr. J. B. Thomson) stated that he noticed with pleasure the intention of the Board to proceed wiitfh surveys. The Hon. W. D. S. MocDonold ■ telegraphed that tii© Hon. Minister of Lands had advised him that the Chief Drainage Engineer would draw up details on his return from the North. The labters were received.
