At the annual ■ meeting of the Southrmd Racing Club the President (Mr. W. T. Hazlett) said that' during • the four years of war racing 'clubs have paid the immense sum: of £640,000 in -taxation. During the j>ast 12 mouths taxation on racing amounted to £180,000, clubs had ■subscribed £50,000 to the war loans and £100,000 to patriotic funds. ■
