ADVANCING AND DRIVING ENEMY'S REARGUARD. SHARP FIGHTTNO ON THE LYS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Associatu.u.l tßcuter's Telesram.) . (Received Sept. 7, 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 6. Sir Douglas Haig reports : On the southern part of th 6 battlefront, both northward and of Peronne, we are advancing, driving m the enemy's rearguard, and approaching high ground. On the Athies-Nurlu front, between Nurlu and the; Sensee river there have Ijeen minor engagements at different parts. ■' ' ' ■ We have slightly advanced on a spur northward of Equancourt. Local fighting; occurred about Neuville Bourjonval and Moeuvres. Our patrols crossed the east bank of the Canal dv Nord "southward of Marquion. The enemy 'on the Lys front again strongly attacked m the sector northward of Hill 63, and was repulsed after sharp fighting. We advanced a short distance southward and south-eastward of Nieppe and north-eastward of Wulverghen.
