The Franco-Americans are advancing northward, and reaching the plateau south of the Aisne. ,It is believed the Germans are likely to re-occupy their old lines north oi the river, or that they will withdraw to the Chemin des Dames lines. During the retirement the Germans used machine guns freely. American fliers bombarded' Longuyon and Con flans, wrecking railway stations. The Americans have occupied Bazoches and \Fismette. The Germans' evacuating these places.
