Saint Christ, Brio and Le Mesnil have been captured. We have reached Athies and Monsen Chausee, and taken Doingt, nnd are making important progress between Peronne and. Nurlu. We hold Bussu and are close to Tompleux La Fosse, Nurlu and Equancourt. We are established m portions of the old German line east of Neuve Chapolle and m the old English front line of Fauquissart LONDON, Sept. 5, 10 p.m. Sir Douglas Haig reports : — On the southern battle front, north and south of Peronne, we are driving m the enemy rearguard and approaching heights m front of Athies and Nurlu. LONDON, Sept. 6/1.40 a.ra. French official: We continued to pursme the retreating enemy on tlie canal dv Nord and Vesle fronts, making important advances of six kilometres at certain points. Despite strong resistance we rapidly progressed north of the Ailette and captured more than 30 villages during the day.
