HAIG PRAISES FOURTH ARMY.

The Press Bureau reports: Sir Douglas Haig telegraphed to General Sir Arthur llawlinsbn : Warmest congratulations and thanks to yourself, staff, and all ranks on the magnificent success recently gained by the Fourth Army. ■- y The brilliant manner in which the | operation was prepared and successfully carried 1 out with comparatively small losses by the Third Australian and j Canadian Corps, in conjunction with the cavalry corps, air force, and tank corps is a- striking tribute to the skill of the leaders and the bravery of the individual soldier as well as the high state of efficiency of the staffs and departmental service concerned. The gallant and skilful co-operation of the armored cars and motor machine gun batteries was' worthy of the highest praise.
