He denied' stating that a great deal of the evidence was "framedup" by the doteetives, or that .if a Royal Commission wa,. appointed he would give evidence, believing that a ' miscarriage of justice had occurred. Judd haa been published, tt alleges, that Mallister, ' one Qf,,the material witnesses, told him A, certain detectives .had sworn lies and faked .; evidence. Scullv and Mallister ]| issued writs against the.: Government. S". with the idea of re-opening the case. A few weeks after the writs :- were issued Mallister died suddenly.
