KIRKER—WYLLIE.
The Holy Trinity Church yesterday afternoon was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding. The contracting parties were Mr. James Kirker, a returned soldier (eldest son of the late Mr. James Kirker, of Auckland, and Mrs. Kirker, now of Dunedin), and Miss Ella Wyllie (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Wyllie, of Te Hapara). The Rev. H. Packe officiated, and Mr. E. N. Sidebottom presided at the organ. Tlie bride, who was given away by hei* father, looked charming in a dainty frock of white crepe-de-chine, and the customary wreath and veil, the latter having been worn by her mother. The bride, who carried a beautiful bouquet of white flowers, was attended by her sisters —Molly and Ruby —as brides-1 maids. The latter wore pretty frocks of white spotted net with butterfly bows' of pale pink tulle. Their hats were of lace straw with rosebud wreaths and pink ribbon streamers. They also car-, ried bouquets of pink flowers. The duties as best man were ably carried out by Mr. R. J. Malcolm, also a returned soldier. The bride's mother was attired in a costume of mole colilne, with hat of violet satin and tulle. Miss K. Wyllie wore saxe blue- crepe-de-chine and hat of black tulle, with touches of pink. The bridegroom's present to the bridesmaids were gold bangles. After the ceremony the guests retired to the charming home of tne bride's parents in Lytton road, where, a dainty wedding breakfast was served. The bride and bridegroom received a number of valuable presents, including several cheques. The bride's going-away costume was of saxe blue crystalline, with hat to match. The happy couple left later by car amid showers of confetti, not forgetting the "lucky boot."
