(Reuter's Telegram.) (Received July 3, 12.50 p.m.) ROME, July 2. An Italian semi-offioini report states: The recapture of Valbella, Col de Proso, and Col de'Chele have wrested from the Austrians the last of their gains on the Asiago Plateau on the first day of the offensive and has completely restored the situation jirior to the great attack. • These positions have been constantly contested throughput the war because they constitute the advanced flank of the Italians, and jumping-off grounds for Austrians wishing to scale the Italian positions. ;
The victory is due to the perfect cooperation of the. artillery and infantry, reducing the. ICalian losses to a minimum, whereas the four enemy- divisions engaged suffered exceptionally heaVy losses.
