SHORTAGE OF LABOR FOR HARVESTING.

LONDON, July 1
In the House of Commons Mr. R. E. Prothero (President of the Board of Agriculture), replying to ai question-, admitted that there was a risk that - a large portion of the harvest would not be gathered owing to labor shortage, and the Government had decided not to enforce the notices calling up agriculturists until after the harvest. The Board of Agriculture was organising a supply of agricultural volunteers, including convalescent British and Dominion soldiers.
