RUGBY UNION
Members of the management committee of the Poverty. Bay Rugby Union met last night at the training shed, the following- being present : Messrs. A. H. Steele (chairman), Wi Friday, B. Featbn, J. O'Neill, Q. Gillett, F. Woodberry, P. Edmohdson, and J. C. E. Turner (hon. sec,), Mr, L .Murray, captain of Kaiti-City A, wrote asking that the suspension of O. Torri© be removed and that he be allowed to play as from next Saturday. It was pointed out that the player referred to was suspended as a result of misbehavior during last year's Napier tour, but that bef ore he was dealt with he apologised io the Union for hw misconduct. — After £V 'general discussion it was decided to remove the suspension. Kaiti-City B wrote asking for permission to play a Pirates team at Napiet on a date to be arranged. — The application was granted, subject to the match not intei'fering with any of the Carroll Clip fixtures. Kaiti-City Thirds wrote protesting against United; being adjudged the winners of a match on Saturday last, on the grouriSs that they played two unregistered players who were also over age.— The delegates discussed ti^e matter fully, and a perusal of the Third Grade registrations showed that the wording of the protest was incorrect, as the two persons named \vere s , duly registered players. On being put to the vote, the pi'otest was dismissed, the fee to bo'returned to the club. A number of players were registered for Kaiti-City A. Following are the fixtures for Saturday next : — SENIORS. Huia v. Y.M.P., No. 1 ground, 3 p.m. Referee, Mr. B. Brown. Kaiti-City A v. High School, No. 2 ground, 3 p.m. Referee, Mr. R. Heron. Kaiti-City B, a bye. THIRDS. Kaiti-City v. High School B, No. 1 ground, 1.30 p.m. Referee, Mr. Millier. High School A v. United, No. 2 , ground, 1.30 p.m. Referee, Mr. J. Corbett. Waerenga-a-hika College, a bye.
