m OPENING OF SEASON. The opening matches in connection with the Carroll and Third-grade Cups took place on Saturday afternoon In the Victoria Domain, before a good number of spectators. Sir James Carroll was present, and before leaving the grounds lie donated a gold medal for the best player during the season, either back or forward. Mr. R. B.
